'Quiraing' blanket scarf - rust
'Quiraing' blanket scarf - rust
A sumptuously soft oversized blanket scarf, handwoven in a mixture of merino lambswool and kid mohair. (mulesing free) Use it either as a scarf or a wrap to keep out the winter chill or to snuggle into on your favourite fireside chair.
It is woven using a deflected double weave structure, in soft greys and rusts, combined with an accent of dusky pink. The inspiration for the design came from the fingers of mist swirling around the otherworldly jumble of rocks at the nearby ‘Quiraing’, which is part of the Trotternish ridge; the largest volcanic landslip in the UK.
The two short edges are both hemstitched by hand and the long edges have selvedges, rather than a cut edge.
It measures approximately 70cm x 190cm (including the fringe)
Designed and handwoven on the Isle of Skye.
Please hand wash or dry-clean.
