'Creag an Fheilidh' blanket scarf - seaspray
'Creag an Fheilidh' blanket scarf - seaspray
A wonderfully soft oversized blanket scarf, handwoven by Maggie MacLean at Westcoast Weavers, in merino lambswool. (mulesing free) Use it either as an oversized scarf or wrap to keep out the winter chill or to snuggle into on your favourite fireside chair.
It is woven using a twill block weave structure, in soft greys and teals, combined with an accent of turquoise and the palest of sunrise pink. The inspiration for the design comes from the famous Kilt Rock, which is just a stones throw from our shop and studio at Ellishadder. The Gaelic name, Creag an Fheilidh, translates to ‘Rock with the Kilt-like appearance’ and refers to the towering vertical basalt columns that form the pleats of the ‘kilt’ that make up the cliff face.
The two short edges are both hemstitched by hand and the long edges have selvedges, rather than a cut edge.
It measures approximately 70cm x 195cm (including the fringe)
Designed and handwoven on the Isle of Skye.
Please hand wash or dry-clean.
